A member of the US Postal Service has notified County Elections that it is estimated that between 500 to 600 Vote By Mail Ballots have been delivered with various degrees of water damage. The exact source of the damage is not yet known. Voters may bring in their water damaged Vote By Mail ballot to the Election’s Office for a replacement ballot. The voter may alternatively call the Office at 831-636-4016 and request a replacement ballot. We regret the inconvenience to our voting public.

Un miembro del Servicio Postal de los Estados Unidos ha notificado a las Elecciones del Condado que se calcula que entre 500 y 600 boletas de voto por correo se han entregado con diversos grados de daños causados por el agua. El origen exacto de los daños aún no se conoce. Los votantes pueden traer sus boletas de voto por correo dañados por el agua a la Oficina de Elecciones para reemplazo. El votante también puede llamar a la Oficina al 831-636-4016 y solicitar una boleta de reemplazo. Lamentamos las molestias a nuestro publico votante.

The Official Canvass of the Vote

Immediately upon the close of polls on election day, the county elections officials and the Secretary of State begin what is called the "semifinal official canvass of the vote" - the tallying of early-returned vote-by-mails and the ballots cast in each of the state's 21,796 voting precincts. The semifinal official canvass begins at 8:00 p.m. on election night and continues uninterrupted until the last precinct is counted and reported to the Secretary of State. More here

Verify that your Vote-By-Mail Ballot has been received here. To insure that your vote is counted, drop off your VBM ballot to our offices on the second floor of the courthouse building room 206 BEFORE Tuesday, June 7, 2011.
